Setting up the positive filter in your brain

When you’ve been down with the blues and feel hopeless, more often than not you would have heard someone tell you to “Be positive”. At the moment you might feel like it’s just a cliché. However the fact is that more often than not this might be the simple solution to all your problems. As commonly said, we do not see the world as it is, we see the world as we are. This means that what you make of the situation around you is basically an interpretation by your brain after it is screened through filters that you set up yourself. Therefore if you’re upset and feel like nothing seems to be going your way, that’s exactly how the rest of your day would go. Everything that happens will be a disappointment. On the other hand, telling yourself that everything that happens, happens for the best, would literally turn your life around. A stressful situation can be seen as a challenge that will help you grow, a failure can be seen as a chance to start over, a loss can be seen as reminder that you have to live every moment etc. There’s no end to seeing the positivity in every situation. In fact according to science a simple smile can facilitate the release of endorphins, the happy hormones, which can help kick start positive thinking. So next time you feel like the veil is being drawn set up filters in your brain to block off all negativity. Start off with a big happy smile, tell yourself it’s for the best and look for all the good things that might come out of it. Watch your life turn around.
